I'm shocked there's never been a Black/Hispanic reality show series talking about cutting hair on VH1 or MTV. You have tattoo shows, restaurant shows (Lawrence on WETV AKA Hustle & Soul), beauty shows, and etc on especially nails, but no barbershop series :mindblown: Shocked that idea hasn't been pitched to Viacom. There's some barbershops poppin in the south and North.

Do yall think it could work ratings wise? Why or why not?

If it's formatted like L&HH and Black Ink/Beauty Bar, then that shyt would work.

AA culture is the barbershops. I do think it's something deeper with not featuring barbershops on TV doe. Like not wanting to feature the Black man in a full leadership role and the shop not being PC.

Also, that shyt could bring to pop to the Hampton Roads 757 area. We have a lot of cool shops in Norfolk, Hampton, and the Beach. Or it could be taped in Richmond. Missed opportunities.

MTV is a cac station and of course that was going to flop. It was treated like a side show circus act.

:russell:

The Show was actually good, you don't even know how it was treated, you're just dap fishing.

There are hardly any black networks, and the ones that cater to black people like BET aren't owned by blacks.

Read above. I said owned by Viacom. Stated that twice. Please read my whole statement before commenting. Cacs watch MTV breh. It may have been good to us (never heard of it), but not them.

More shyt posting/dap fishing, especially seeing as Viacom's highest rated black shows are on VH1/MTV and not BET

Cacs watch BET too, when it comes to funding, Viacom gives more funding to shows on VH1 or MTV

The show was given the axe when Viacom changed the structure of the programming across all their networks in the mid 2000s, had nothing to do with ratings.
