Around the middle of an episode, the detectives bust a guy who turns out to be undercover FBI or DEA.
Undercover agent starts spazzing at them in the interrogation room like: "I've been on this crew for 9 months and I was this close to nailing them. My case is blown"

The overly ambitious cop/detective, who is usually the main lead and the one to drive the investigation into unchartered territory. Every film or show I’ve seen them in usually has their co-workers in such an exhausted, “give it up already, we’re never crackin’ this case”/“let’s just go home” :beli: state.

A maverick that breaks all the rules but by Jove, he's the only one that can crack the case
