WE NEED CONTROVERSY

We need controversy because it allows ideas for exploration and discussion of different viewpoints, ideas and perspectives.

We need controversy to make better decisions

We need controversy to tackle the most important issues that are swept underneath the rug.

The late Martin Luther King Jr was so controversial mainly because of his role as a prominent leader in the civil rights movement and his advocacy for racial equality, which faced significant opposition and resistance from those who supported segregation and the status quo. MLK's belief in racial equality, civil rights and justice for all was made his "I Have a Dream" speech so powerful.

The late Malcolm X was controversial because he believed that black people in the US had a right to defend themselves, and charged that the US was inconsistent in referencing its founding fathers’ defense of liberty for everyone but us. Malcolm also spoke to the internalized racism of our people that was essential to overcome for true liberation.

Controversy is risky. Alas, taking a risk leads to advancement.

There's a bunch of controversial topics that affects our community the most:
Systematic Racism, Anti-Blackness, Colorism, Police Brutality, Kidnappings of Black Children in the Black Market (Missing Black Children Deserve More Attention, Black Genocide, Mental Illness, The Normalization of Toxicity, Rape and Sexual Abuse etc.

Controversy is conductive to change. Without controversy, we remain stagnant and suffer.

I dont think most of those topics are controversial per se, but the solutions to solving them is what normally causes issues. Topics and solutions should be debated imo as its healthy to do so and pushback is normal, but it can be a bit annoying when some topics dealing with general well being of black life is politicized.
