It has potential but the female lead is terrible as a character and an actress.
Also felt that the show wasn't nearly dark enough. I was hoping it would lean more towards the Hannibal side of things but instead it is more akin to Grimm in tone.
The guy playing Constantine is good though.

I'm good. Usually anything Marvel, DC, or Star Wars peaks my interest. But I think I'm gonna pass on this. Too many TV shows I'm gonna have on my plate in the fall. I haven't even decided if I'm gonna watch "Gotham" or not.

After watching Penny Dreadful, I can't help but think this would've been better on HBO or Showtime. Still pretty good though

Since I am a big fan of Constantine, I am going to give this a longer evaluation period.
But I can not overstate how poor the lead female is. I can already foresee myself either muting the tv during her scenes if I am watching live, or fast forwarding if I am watching a stream/download. I really can't imagine this show doing all that well without some major improvements across the board. Its a shame too, because I was interested the first 15 min or so.

It took me a minute to realize that it is the same woman who played Eric's sister on True Blood.
She had a spark to her in that role yet she is giving me nothing on Constantine.

OK, speaking as a huge fan of the comics and someone who thought the Keanu Reeves film was a lot of fun in its own right,
initial impressions are
Like I say, he's one of my favourite comic characters, might have something to do with my cac London homefield alleigance but whatever, basically this struck me as warmed over Supernatural leftovers. Firstly the script was a fukking mess, plot dumps all over this bish instead of character development, I get it's the pilot but couldn't they have left it to the second episode for him to link up with a cute whitegirl sidekick so we could see how he conducts himself dolo for the first episode? Also they're writing him as kind of naive for a veteran demon buster; I couldn't believe dude needed to read a book before figuring out the demon ran on electricity
. As far as the main actor goes, he looks the part (why couldn't it be a young Paul Bettany tho 
). Still, this might not make much difference to US brehs but Constantine is meant to be London cockney by way of Liverpool. This dude right here is welsh. Might not mean much to yall but imagine Dolemite had a thick canadian accent or Colombo was cajun. Despite that guy acted well enough but I blame the writing because Constantine should be way more sardonic, drier, etc. making these demons feel ashamed of themselves by how little they can fade his swag, but because the scenes were only moving the story forward they weren't building up the character properly.
Last but not least, what the fukk is up with your censorship in the States
People can be getting blood eagles and made into human totem poles in Hannibal but you can't show ol boy smoking a loosie on NBC
