Honestly, Diddy, Nore & Jimmy can come off the list. As well as Ice Spice, and I'd take Biz off for another Juice Crew member, Pop, ASAP Rocky & Dirty.

There's no way there's any set criteria for this list because whatever standards y'all claim there are, there's at least 2 people that rebuke it.

Is it lyricism, hits, influence, memorable songs, classic albums, quality albums, outside ventures, fame? There's people on the list that aren't known to casual audience.

nikka he aint top 50 material.
:comeon:But “Vapors” wasn’t a better song than “Just A Friend” tho? And top 50 is debatable, BUT that’s only cause he used ghostwriters. Goin Off is still a classic album, and Biz still belong in a top NY list before at LEAST ten of them nikkas listed on there, at LEAST ten of them, prolly more tho.

Hov the greatest rapper from anywhere ever, NY and everywhere else. So they got #1 right...

Nas has to be #2, Cool J should be #3...

It's way late to keep placing BIG so high. It's 26 years post-death. Alot of shyt has happened in that time. He no longer has a case as greatest rapper ever, nor as second greatest rapper from NY. That's disrespectful to Nas' longevity and his own production. Biggie simply didn't live long enough to put out enough work to justify him as high as he gets entertained to this day...

That said he still Top 5 but putting him #2 is wack...

Pop Smoke was a trash rapper, never was nice. Him and Ice Spice being on here is wack...

Nicki should be lower and Cardi should be higher. Lyte should be higher...

No AZ is disrespectful...

first off you have the right to your opinion and some will agree with you
let’s evaluate this ….
the mid to late 90s were the pinnacle of hip-hop and Nas and Jay-Z put out their best work during that era (and I don’t think that’s even debatable)

now, with that said Biggie was 2 , 3 maybe even 4 times more relevant then Nas and Jay-Z during that era (and this is no disrespect to them. I’m just stating the actual facts.) and when I say relevant, I’m talking about album sales , singles sales , how many spins gotten on the radio, in the streets, at the clubs, music video played and just overall talked about in a general form.

At the end of the day, it’s damn near impossible to rank them above Biggie because of their longevity when they both was fighting for that number 2 and 3 spot when Biggie was alive and well

Biggie was NOT 2-3 times more relevant than Nas when he was alive. Illmatic’s first week actually outsold and out-charted Ready To Die’s before RTD took off. It Was Written spent FOUR CONSECUTIVE WEEKS at number 1 which no Biggie album accomplished. Ready To Doe took a year to reach double platinum whereas IWW was double platinum within three months of release.

That was a 3-year span that basically encapsulated Big's entire career...

Nas was hot before Big hit the scene and was hot after Big passed...

Jay became bigger in every aspect of The Game after big passed and while he wasn't bigger during Big's brief run, he still dropped quality music and was relevant...

Jay, Nas, LL. That's the GOAT 3 NY rappers. If you wanna argue Big and LL I'll allow it for 3rd place but Nas leapt over Big along time ago. He has no case as Top 2 and that case died years ago...

First of all complex doesn't know shyt about new york rappers to make a list. Whats the criteria?

Second of all.... I will let the top 5 live (though I don't agree)... but in no way shape or form is Nicki Minaj and 50 Cent over DMX.... nikkas are really bugged the fukk out.
It's none of my business, I'm not a New Yorker but how is AZ not in the top 50?

:dwillhuh:

See i didn't even read the actual list yet but this the shyt im talking about. These nikkas not qualified to make a list. No Sosa?!?
