. .. go into this one blind if you can . .. dont read any comments on YouTube, etc. . . .. be advised there are some non-Harlem activities included but its nothing explicit and ultimately makes sense in the context of the "Love vs Control" theme . . .. .

I watched it last night without really watching any trailers and it was the best idea I could’ve done! It really made my viewing experience better.

I don’t want to get into any details, but just know it’s a good flick with a bunch of turns, humor, and surprises. I recommend watching it with an audience because it made this 7/10 movie into an 8/10 movie.

This was an enjoyable flick. The vibe was Stepford Wives, but felt like it just as easily could’ve been its own Black Mirror episode, too. Glad Thatcher got to utilize her talents more in this than in Heretic. Couldn’t help but think that she looks like the actress you’d cast if you can’t afford Anya Taylor-Joy.

He’s getting into typecast territory with it, but I like Quaid in these kind of roles more than I do when he portrays the goody-two shoes character. Dude has a knack for playing piece of shyt, incel boyfriends.

My favorite part was hearing the audience collectively laugh during his pity rant about how the whole world is rigged against “nice guys” like him. :russ:

I was waiting for Iris to take on Patrick but it never happens. It’s like they realized while writing the script “Oh shyt, we kinda made this Patrick fella OP.” Let’s solve that by having him remember his love even though his memory was erased.

This was basically an Outer Limits episode played as a dark comedy instead of straight.

But I really enjoyed it. The comedy was good. The cast was good. Probably could have shaved that last confrontation down.

Sophie Thatcher is a star though. She has screen presence I haven’t seen in a while.

Even though I didn’t watch the spoilery second trailer I clocked the premise within a few minutes.

I'll give it a 7.5 as well.

The 🌈 was the worst thing about this film and the best thing at the same time. It's alot genres in here and some of those genres are executed better then others. Good acting though. The main problem was the humor. I like certain type of white humor but this aint my type. Folks was cracking up and I was :unimpressed: for many of that.

Main actress gave me a water down version of Emma Stone "Poor Things" vibe.

I really enjoyed this. I really wish the reveal hadn't been shared in the trailers though. It would have been a nice surprise. There was still another surprise though that I think worked well. Fun movie and pretty brutal. People may not like the comedy-horror vibe of it, because the trailers don't really sell it as a comedy, but it's more funny than horror. 8/10
