Common To Produce ’90s Rapper Comedy Titled ’93 Til Infinity’
Aside from getting ready for the release of his forthcoming eleventh studio album Black America Again, Common is also in talks to produce a television series for FOX.
Titled 93 Til Infinity the single camera buddy comedy will be produced by Common and Hamilton‘s very own Thomas Kail, and written by Ian Edelman.
The show will follow a prolific black rapper from the ’90s that is struggling in the present day to figure out the next chapter of his life. In the process he reconnects with his white best friend from middle school; struggles with family and other personal responsibilities; and is simply trying to get a much needed midlife reboot.
The premise sounds entertaining and it’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out. But the series definitely has our attention, especially considering that it’s name after a great ’90s rap song and album (Souls Of Mischief‘s debut album 93 Til Infinity).
Whatever happened to the 50 Cent TV series for Fox? Wonder if this will see the light of day.
