Commodus was an all-time villain in Gladiator.

Off the top of my head, I can't think of one worse. Joaquin Phoenix fukking killed that role. Most villains, you can sympathize with them to some extent or root for them in certain situations. There was nothing about Commodus a person could like.

"They tell me your son...squealed like a girl...when they nailed him to the cross. And your wife...moaned like a whore...when they ravaged her...again...and again...and again."

I thought he was weak, and the poor villain or antagonist was the only weak point of the movie.
