Steve Martin Becomes First-Time Dad at Age 67

He’s looked like a dad as long as I can remember and has been playing a dad for decades — from the original Parenthood to Cheaper by the Dozen — and so many in between. Yet he’s always avoided doing “any of the dirty work,” sending each of his kids home to get their noses blown and diapers changed. That is, until now.

That’s right — Steve Martin is a first-time dad! Don’t fight it, go ahead and congratulate him by putting your hands together … unless they’re cozily nestled between two pillows.

Steve Martin, 67, and his wife, Ann Stringfield, 41, are a private pair, maybe even qualifying as reclusive by Hollywood standards. Unlike their neighbors who tend to publicize every moment and aspect of their lives, Martin and Stringfeld made no announcement of the recent arrival of their first child, but have been spotted pushing a baby stroller around their LA neighborhood. They have otherwise managed to keep the whole bundle under wraps. The couple welcomed their bundle of joy as long ago as December.

Married in 2007, Martin and Stringfield have been “working on” the baby for “a long time”, according to their representative.

No one is quite sure how they’ve managed to keep their secret this long and details on the baby are not currently known, including gender or birth date. We might not know much, but one thing is certain; Steve Martin is in for the role of a lifetime. An award-winner, no doubt.

Martin, also a renowned banjo player, has been publishing increasingly curious tweets lately, on the topic of babyhood. His 3.7 million followers have been treated to recent gems including, “My recent dada Tweet was admired by the artistic community,” and later, “Coo coo, cutsy wootsy, footsy pie.”

He recently had this to say of tweeting, “Tweeting is really only good for one thing — it’s just good for tweeting … It is rewarding, because it’s just its own reward. It’s sort of like heaven.” Oh, just you wait, Steve, just you wait. May the same also prove true of diaper duty, teething, and lo those many sleepless nights to come.

thoughts??

That sucks for the kid, geez. And plenty women have post - 40 babies, I wouldn't want to do that, but in today's climate, it's safer/easier. Halle berry is 46 and preggers
