According to numbers from the Colorado Secretary of State this morning, nearly 1.9 million Colorado voters have already cast their votes - that's more than half of all the state's registered voters.
Based on today's numbers, 675,797 registered Republicans turned out compared with just 642,834 registered Democrats. Unaffiliated voters and voters registered with other parties account for 554,356 of the ballots turned in so far. That's 36% Republicans, 34% Democrats and 29% unaffiliated/others. An important distinction: this does NOT/NOT indicate in any way which candidate voters chose on their ballots, it simply indicates how the voters who have turned out so far are registered.
In the key swing counties of Arapahoe, Jefferson, and Larimer counties - all of which were won by both Bush in 2004 and Obama in 2008 - registered Republicans have turned out in greater numbers than registered Democrats as well.
The Politics Desk has a pdf of the county by county results so far, which can also be found here.
