College uses outdated tactics that fails to consider the direction humanity is heading!

College should be based on one's ability to perform a subject, rather than remembering a bunch of facts in order to perform it. In this information age a person can find any type of fact they wish with a simple search online so why are students still pressed to remember vast amounts of information? What good does that do anymore? In the past, information was buried in some book and a lot of time and effort would be needed in finding it but that is not the case today. So remembering anything that does not directly pertain to your everyday accomplishments in your life or job...we should just submit it to the almighty hive mind, google, until there is a need for it to be queried.

This would result in truly efficient learning.

Focusing and thinking does not directly correlate with learning things. I feel the future holds a highly close relationship with humans and technology. The google glass is evidence of this. All the information in the world available to you, every second, right in front of your face. What will people NEED to know? I'm sure repetitive actions necessary for your everyday success in whatever you're engaging in will not be altered.
