Major college is the better job in my opinion. More stability, money is about the same, more influence over the team's success, college players tend to be more coachable than pros (I know not always). The only downside is the heavy work put in for recruiting, but if you're at a major school, recruiting allows you to bring in more talent every year than the NFL draft does anyway.

But really that's comparing the best of the best college jobs to NFL jobs. I imagine the money and prestige of being an NFL coach far outweighs being at some middling mid-major or FCS or something

Which job would you rather have?
A michigan, osu, bama, Texas, USC. Etc or
Patriots, steelers, 49ers, Seahawks, panthers(right now).
I think the pros for the college would outweigh the nfl. but then again both are probably intense and stressful.
Which would you guys rather be?
College football. But for real, I would have no idea how to be a head coach. I mean, I got pretty good at Madden '95. Nothing new is under the sun. I can just study plays from Madden '95 again. Just need to find an old Sega Genesis. And then from there, I'd work with the OC and DC to create "MY PLAYBOOK". If I tried that in the NFL, I would get eaten alive by the media. NFL is too high profile.
The money is pretty good in college football.

Hee hee. Hopefully, the opposing coaches won't make the Madden 95 connection.
