Next dog I'm getting is gonna be a Shepherd probably. I want a spitz type dog though so I'm debating between an Akita as well. They had a Korean Jindo/Shiba Inu at my local shelter and I regret not getting that joint ​

I've owned a German Shepherd. Probably my favourite dog breed.

But they would get washed by a Rottweiler unless it was well trained (military dog or police dog).

I refuse to choose. Old school Shepherd though, not lowrider deformed Shepherds. Rotties and Shepherds are both great dogs.

Shpherds have the overall edge for trainability and temperament, though.

Don't let their staus as traditional police dogs discourage you. With training, nikkas can reclaim Shepherds. Nikkas don't like training, though...
