I know it's well into 2025 but I got the Spotify playlist going and some rappers were going the fukk off last year.
Looked for a Coli verse of the year thread but all I could see is a Billboard one and fukk what they talking bout. These were the verses that stopped me dead in my tracks when playing them off the iPhone
Roc Marciano and Alchemist - Chopstick
Roc's first verse on this is incredible - the flow, pocket and word association are fukking top tier:
Curren$y - Neighbourhood Superstar (feat Payroll Giovanni)
Pay seriously had about four or five contenders - he went fukking crazy this year. Spitta should've probably gave this back to Pay for one his projects though because Pay's verse on the Tonight Show Sequel cleared the whole fukking album:
Future and Metro Boomin - Like That (feat Kendrick Lamar)
Future's verse on this is probably his best on the whole album. Like it almost as much as Kendrick's verse but the way Dot set the tone for 2024 was crazy - Drake had no other choice but to engage lol:
Drake - Family Matters
fukk what they talking bout - the flow and pockets Drake caught on the second verse is nuts. I was shocked he could even rap like that lol:
Ghetts - Xavier and Magneto (feat Dave)
Dave's verse was dope but then what Ghetts did after him was insane:
Payroll Giovanni - Dealership
As said, Pay had about 4 or 5 contenders but had to include this as the storytelling and boss talk/motivation is on this is top tier:
Fendi P - Redrum Part 2
I'll hold my hands up and say Fendi probably got no business being in a verse of year thread but he killed this shyt lol - probably my most improved rapper for last year:
Interested to see what other people's are - post vids if possible
