just wanted to ask you all since theres a wide range of talent/skill.

like a decent amount of us, i make beats at home, and im very self taught in the mixing (as in, i just tweak shyt until it sounds generally right)

but i been thinkin about trying to take them to a local studio to get clean, professional mixdowns

do you all do that? or you prefer to mix at home?

if yall do take em to a stu, do you wait til you get a nice batch, or will you just take one in to get it mixed?

I'm an audio engineer so I mix my beats at home as I go along, or at the studio I work at, its easier for me because I'm professionally trained to audio engineer so I don't need to bring it to a studio since I already do that.

I'll make my beat in Fl Studio or MPC, then I track everything out and mix it in Pro Tools.

Other producers I've engineered for usually wait until they have a nice batch and they bring in a batch of like 4-8 beats and we mix it for them in one 3-5 hour session.

Sometimes people will bring in only one beat, but that's when they bring their artist with them, so we professionally mix it, and then have the artist record on it.

Other times people only bring a small batch for beat battles.

It really depends on what you are trying to do. If you want to start shopping your beats to artists, def wait to you have a nice batch of beats, and take em to a studio to mix it, (you need track stems for this tho [track-outs]).

thanks breh, i been trying to stack up a nice little cache of beats before i take them to a studio for proper mixing. i can do a decent mix at my house, but im not an engineer so im thinking taking them, once ready to a real engineer to mix, will just give that last little oomph i want
