He'd prefer names that didn't taint future social and business prospects.
the only reason they'd taint anything is because of racism and self-hate. their names aren't the problem.
Those aren't the only reasons. Names have meaning - culturally and socially. Choosing a name that links family and/or culture is one thing (Nathan, Wali), making up a whimsical, trendy name is another (La' 3vion/La Trayvion, QuaDarius)
This isn't self-hate or racism, just common sense.

One thing to somewhat undermine ya folk for social media likes on your own. Seems more fukked up when involve the children.
It's two fold, ingrains the undermining/devaluation while also framing shyt in a certain way. And 2, gives the example that this (clowning your own) is the way to get ahead.
But maybe I'm reading to much into it, the children aspect threw me off. Reminds me of Denzel saying part of the reason why he turns down certain roles that seem demeaning to him is that he didn't wanna have the people coming up behind him that this is the path they gotta take.

Yup. "Jim" certainly has a ton of character and energy behind it. That's definitely a top factor as to why there's so many Jim's that are promoted as managers.Tf is a Shaquille or Dwyane Tyrone Wade gonna do in this world, besides what's expected of them.....
