For the ones that are serious about getting your money right, this thread is for you!!!!

It's somewhat true that automation will drastically reduce and/or limit the amount of jobs, but it won't eliminate jobs completely. The workforce focus will be shifted towards inventing, building and maintaining machines that keep producing the products we buy. Those are where the jobs will be..... but are you prepared?

I remember an old thread that basically called out men who couldn't use hand tools. These men are already ill-prepared to navigate the new automation job market, even at entry level positions because they can't use tools. No racism needed(but that will come). The explosion of the Internet age and the trending of white collar jobs has made MOST black men ill-prepared to economically benefit from this shift that's about to take place (actually, it started 10 years ago, give or take) in the world job economy.

White American men have done these types of jobs for ages, but with each subsequent generation, more white males are abandoning these jobs (however, their job networks still remain). There is and will be profound need for maintenance technicians who can build and keep machines operational.

Your ceiling can be what you want it to be. If you can handle physics & engineering you'll be paid ridiculous amounts of money, and eventually own your company. If you're comfortable just making a modest living, that will work too or your son(s) need a career and isn't cut out for entrepreneurial pursuits, this will get all of you PAID.

Start building by building!

STEM guy here. Definitely automation is in a lot of the roles I see. Configuration management, learning to code, etc.

Definitely need to go in that direction brehs.

Can't emphasize that enough. Learning to code should be the new foreign language. When I was coming up they were pushing foreign language in school. But now I think we should all know how to code. That's a skill that sets people apart in the
Job market now. A employee that can code can normally do things more efficiently than one that cannot.

I agree, me and my sister are both learning this and it is definitely helpful. Don't look to learn simply for a job though, learn so that you know how to interact with computer systems as this will be needed for more than just a job.

Automation will eventually remove the need to learn to code.

The ability to design and understand algorithms is more important than remembering syntax.

Please give a quick summarization....
It's a misunderstood concept known as "Universal Basic Income" or "Reverse Tax Credit". It would replace the welfare system and up until this point there hasn't been a need for it but in the future it is the only solution to respond to the lack of jobs due automation.

There's a better explanation I can link if you're interested, more comprehensive than I can explain

Blacks are far behind the curve in this regard. Read the bios of these young people taking over Silicon Valley. Their parents saw the future and had their children learning to code since age 8. Our parents were busy making sure we were flexing on the other kids in elementary school with Kid Jordans.
