If you seen the first film, you pretty much know the storyline but if you don't I break down a simple synopsis. Hong Kong Police vehicle has been carjacked with 5 members of the force on it and goes missing without a trace. HKPD receive cyptic messages from the jackers and the police respond. Unknowing to them, the mole has been set up in their department to sabotage plans and destroy it from the inside. The first film relies on more story driven build up, then action. While the action scenes were good they were extremely short and too far apart.
The 2nd film falls right into place where it the first film left off and increased the suspense, action and overall speed of the film. This time it seems that there is more than a mole in the police department but a brotherhood controlling the current events playing out for the HKPD. Aaron Kwok returns as commissioner who's family is kidnapped by the same individuals behind trying to kill him in the original.
The acting is good and the plot twist are good. What makes this a better film is the action. The action takes over a better role for the film because of the lack of it in the first one. The scenes are realistic, longer and bigger than the next scene. The last shoot out scene is straight out of Just Cause 3 video game...it's worth watching again. Hell the 2nd shoot out was....
If you like HK flicks and drama filled flicks with a good plot, you will enjoy this. If you like action, you will enjoy it as well.
