"Hell" is a little hyperbolic... but I do think the status of project management & product design is pretty awful. A lot of moving pieces and chefs in the kitchen who kind of don't know what they are doing or how to narrow down scope and expectations.

Well, it depends. I've worked with various companies in IT. You have good managers, then the job is good. You have bad managers, then the job is bad. Coding can be fun and boring at the same time. At least, it pays. CASH MONAY.
