I don't get the sudden boom in coconut water products.

I grew up drinking coconut water straight from white coconuts, but I still don't get the hype. The taste is meh, only tastes good if you add a little sugar to it.

C/S. my West Indians been known the deal. we grew up drinking it.. the sudden push is just the latest marketing craze to make people spend absurd amounts of money. i drink Zico brand....or just hit up the Asian supermarket for the bulk package of like 24 cans @ a FRACTION of the price.

coconut water has the same amount of electrolytes as your blood ...btw for those wondering why it's even better to drink after a workout than water. my mom said back in the day in parts of the west indies like in the extreme country with no clean running water.....coconut water was the substitute some people used for daily hydration.
