Before even reading the article various factors popped into my head and then upon reading I see I was right.

Overweight is a very funny word...and since they're going by BMI there are tons of people, hell even Olympic level athletes who are "overweight".

This does'nt give the ok for someone to be 300 Lbs if they're only like 5'5

Flegal and her co-authors suggest that it's possible that overweight and obese people get better medical care, either because they show symptoms of disease earlier or because they're screened more regularly for chronic diseases stemming from their weight, such as diabetes or heart problems.

:snoop: ill stay exercising myself

This is probably true.

A lot of thin people don't bother going to the doctor (I'm guilty of this), and when they do go doctors may assume they're healthy and be less likely to test them for things like diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension, etc.

-So which one is it? To be truthful this is the last 'study' Americans need to hear. The obesity epidemic is crushing the country. what is the purpose of damaging info like this? Do they need Americans to get back out there and spend more money at restaurants, supermarkets, and fast food chains? :mindblown:

who funded this study, Burger King?

probably BS but even if true I'd rather live a shorter life in a body I don't have to lug around, be sweaty and miserable in.

Its true- if you make it past the diabetes, heart disease, joint injuries and constant ridicule/shame of carrying an extra person around worth of Ho Hos and bacon you *could* live to be 100

Whens the last time you saw a skinny old person :childplease:
