He was on Beyonce's country album. No one else as big as Beyonce put Shaboozy on their well publicized album like she did. The shout out specifically to Bey makes sense.

Country always has it's year or two in a decade before it takes the back seat. Not to say it ain't popular, just that the country awards/centric shyt doesn't matter.
Not to mention most of it is trash
Country music is just pop music with cacs cos playing as cowboys
And now you have rock artist (Zach Bryan, Nate Smith) infiltrating the genre as well.
