With shooting just completed
a few weeks ago, fans are getting a taste of what to expect from the dynamic duo of director Isaac Florentine and action star Scott Adkins.
CLOSE RANGE stars Adkins as Colton MacReady, an outlaw of sorts who will do anything to protect his family. When his niece is kidnapped by a powerful drug cartel, he takes them on and successfully rescues her. However, he unwittingly has possession of a flash drive during the rescue and after returning to his home, he has trouble coming. The cartel returns to get revenge and get their hands on the flash drive. Things get worse when MacReady must also deal with a corrupt sheriff and his goons in the midst of the chaos.
Nick Chinlund, Caitlin Keats, Madison Lawlor, and Tony Perez co-star in the film, which was written by Chad Law and Shaun Dax Taylor. Tal Lazar was the film’s cinematographer.
The film’s title indicates that the combat scenes will feature more close-range combat rather than see Adkins in his usual superkicking move. From the teaser, it looks that way and fans couldn’t be more excited. In charge of the fight scenes was veteran stuntman Jeremy Marinas (MAN OF TAI CHI), who also has a co-starring role as Cruz, a member of the drug cartel who has a throwdown with Adkins.
