Of all games, of all publishers, of all developers, of all platforms, when asked what his most disappointing game was of this gen, Clifford Bleszkinski had a double whammy but his fire and foremost disappointment? Uncharted 3. I don't think I need to tell you, but if you haven't equipped a flameproof jockstrap yet, you better do it now.

In the latest bonus round at Gametrailers.com, Cliffy B or the Cliffski, or the Cliffordist, or Cliffy Bombiski, had this to say, when asked about which game was most disappointing to him this generation...

"First I have to give you a disclaimer: I'm friends with the developers. I love their games. We drink together. They're awesome. But, in a lot of ways Uncharted 3 let me down.

Now before this causes N4G internet controversy, Uncharted 3 really kind of hit at the point where I was getting really kind of disenchanted with the super-scripted, feel-like-you're-playing-a-quick-time-movie type [of] thing.

The idea is that if you're going to make a YouTube video of a game – when the YouTube video is the exact same thing for everybody – for me personally, as a designer, it's like it's cool and all but you still saw the same plane sequence that I saw"

Cliff and Geoff go on to do some anti-internet-exploding damage control by saying that Uncharted 2 was an amazing game and that production values are absolutely top notch for both games.

To a lesser and more unimportant extent, The Bombiski attempts to also rail on id Software's Rage, but let's be honest that game was just like “bleh”, so no one cares. What's interesting, though, is that Cliff's biggest fault with Rage was the lack of proper deathmatch, especially since id Software was the king of competitive multiplayer from the early 1990s to the late 1990s. So, yeah, he's right about that and Rage did suck, so no one cares.

But back to Uncharted 3 – a game I felt deserved to be the Game of the Year over Skyrim – I don't quite get Cliff's gripe with the game considering that YouTube videos of Gears of War 3 are just as linear and scripted and predictable as Uncharted 3. The biggest difference is that Uncharted is actually a fun game to watch someone else playing, where-as Gears of War was a boring game to play (in my opinion) and even more boring watching someone else play. The rinse-and-repeat, whack-a-mole, duck-and-cover, string-along shooting was just tedious at best. I'm just going to say that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and GTA IV just kind of ran all kinds of circles around Gears of War when it came to unpredictability and tension during a shootout.

Anyway, if you decide to get involved in the conversation about which game most disappointed you this generation don't forget to pick up some flameproof gear from eBay, they have good deals on swords, shields and jockstraps. Let me down as well, but Uncharted 2 is one of the GOATs so they get a pass.

I would be more inclined to fall in line with his thoughts if he wasn't the guy behind Gears of War 3.

Game was great, but it was a let down in comparison to UC2. It makes sense and hurts at the same time to find out that Naughty Dog put their B team on UC3:beli: and their A team on "The Last of Us".

The visuals are still great, game just wasn't as fun. Alot of sequences you just don't want to play over again, while UC2 I can still play that game over & over. Even UC1 is still more fun to run through.
