I've never seen this video before.

To me it's clear that Chuck was at fault. Dude literally dove headfirst from standing position. It looks like he took every other move wrong as well. Just a totally incompetent worker. Might be a reason why we don't have jobber matches anymore. WWE fukked up by hiring the guy and thus the lawsuit was warranted.

I think Marty, unfortunately, had a stigma attached to him that was unwarranted ever since. Sad shyt.

"Austin would subsequently sue the WWF and Jannetty. In 1994, a jury awarded him $26.7 million[2] of which Jannetty had to pay over $1 million.[4] The WWF appealed the ruling and eventually settled out of court for $10 million.[3] After this event, the WWF began using only experienced, contracted wrestlers.[3]"

Jobber ruined it for everybody. :smh:

Wow.....I feel like an idiot :snoop:

In recent years I would randomly wonder why WWE stopped doing squash matches with random jobbers like how they did in the early 90s.....and I was also aware of the Chuck Austin incident and lawsuit for a long time. I never once made the connection that this was the reason why they stopped.

The WWE never really learned from this because they still brought in a cheap inexperienced worker for one of the Owen Hart stunts which unfortunately led to his tragic death.
