basically my question is, if Satan knew God was literally the most powerful being in existence...why would Satan try to overthrow him, and with only a 3rd of the agels correct?

Let me first say I genuinely mean no offensive of any way

I personally believe in God, the Most High

I've just always wondered if he incorrectly thought he saw a weakness in God, or a vulnerability

everyone says it was Satan's arrogance, and me personally of course you would have to be arrogant to challenge the Creator, the most powerful, the most intelligent etc

like basically I rarely hear people say Satan is stupid, so...what was he thinking

I'm not looking for a right or wrong answers I just want your honest opinion

I love to learn, always have, but one of the main things I like about TheColi has so many intelligent people

Google ain't got nothing on some Coli Posters

but yeah, I've wondered that since a kid...thoughts

again I'm not trying to offend anyone

Arrogance and pride. The same reason humans, knowing God is vastly more powerful and infinitely more intelligent than us, still want to 'do our own thing' versus listening to God.

What is god’s purpose?
What is the devil’s purpose?

Based on their roles & purpose who’s progressing more?

Theres many ways to win a fight!!

Right now the ruling god is Ares!!!

He (Satan) was corrupted by even older ancient chaos gods who hid their nature from him, God didn't want him (satan) to know about these ancient deities and denied their existence.

When Satan found out these ancient deities did in fact exist, he was horrified by the lie God had told him. The ancient deities had corrupted satan by this time and convinced him it was God who was evil and the liar.

Horus, I mean Satan gathered his army and sought to overthrow God by assaulting Holy Terra. Satan was defeated and weakened but it took a tremendous toll on God too. Nobody has seen him since.

To this day, we commit a millions of thoughts and prayers in temples across the world to keep him in a psychic statis (not fully alive or dead ) in the hopes he will return some day. :francis:

OP asks a question for Christians and of course non Christians are the first to jump in with an answer :mjlol:

But to answer your question I always assumed it was arrogance or jealously

I know right :skip:
Because God has a plan.

thanx 4 the response

wow, I never thought of it like that, glad I asked already, I was understandably hesitant to make the thread

The overall theme of the Bible, and religion in general is, "shyt happens"

The Bible is full of regular people in the background, people still wiped their asses with bark and burnt hay for fun in the background

You, me, and the third nikka aren't Jesus, Moses, or David we would've been fishermen and farmers in the Bible :manny:

I've been to various churches, felt nothing at all, but reading the bible ain't a bad thing to do :manny:

I don't believe in any god, there were times where I came close but life just is and people were always the same, the Bible helps you remember that and many more :ehh:

This is because if Christians had the answers to these (or any) questions, they'd no longer be Christians.

The truth is, these are mythological stories told by ancient primitives that didn't know how the world worked. This is why almost every single story they tell has logical holes, and this is one of them.

Why would a being that KNOWS God can instantly destroy it rebel against him? It doesn't make any logical sense. It also doesn't make sense that God allowed a rebellion in the first place. Like, what? You decided to fight against the ultimate being that knows the present, past, future, and has infinite power?

That sounds EXACTLY like the thinking of a primitive person to me.

Wait until you realize Noah's Ark is literally impossible :sas2:
