I was a real fan of this nikka mayne. Rooted for him all Royal Rumble 2004 until he won in wrestlemania and almost cried because he was the little dude who made it, he was like 5'7 no lie. Nikka wasn't even a character mayne, cuz he sucked on the mic, just the GOAT technical wrestler since dynamite kid.

he was the most intense, aggressive, and relentless wrestler i ever seen in my life. his chops, kicks, and suplex's was crazy.

as i got older, i understood getting into with your wife and wanting to do something, but i was always taught to just leave the house and stay out of trouble. But to kill your baby is a whole other level of savage.

what could people have done to stop this nikka from doing that fukk shyt, he went the worst way out. A few years back somebody bought his house, I would never live or stay a night in that bytch, hell no.

Do you feel he was the GOAT Technical wrestler over Bret Hart? I have them both at about equal.

He wasn’t a bad promo IMO, he was one of those guys that didn’t have to say much and his intensity pretty much spoke for him. We’ll never know the exact circumstances that lead up to what happened. It’s been discussed, disseminated etc... The only person who knew why he did it cannot speak for himself.

He died at the peak of my wrestling craze and I was only 7.

Cause of the Vince death storyline I thought it was part of the show. I even tried to buy his action figure after it happened (already had one of him but this one came w/ a ladder :noah:) since they still had it at Target on that Wednesday. My dad wouldn't let me and had a long conversation with me about what he did and it finally sunk in.

I think the story that best describes how this impacted the industry is Undertaker letting Miz back in the locker room after realizing who kicked him out couldn't let him back in anymore. It feels very symbolic of a lot of the change that occurred in the product since I would watch on a regular basis as a kid.

by that time, I was not fukkin wit wwe like that. In my school if u was talkin about wrestling you was pretty much looked at like a day room kid.

7 years old, damn. U was the same age as Daniel Benoit his son. I was like 13 in 07. So I found out on espn as I was putting on my deorderant, same time they locked up Mike Vick , crazy times, and I was shocked that they found him dead.

he shouldn’t of went out like that, not cool.

I got into wrestling in 1999-2005.

I didn’t know about Bret hart until I started renting and buying wwf vhs. I thought he was cool against stone cold in that king of the ring match but that’s about it

rip to his bro.

I'm obv a few years behind so it was still cool for a kid my age :yeshrug:

I was into WWE heavy since I was little kid (remember having a WWE cake for my 5th bday). I tuned out around late-2008 and got back into it when Rock returned & Punk was on fire. Lesnar's return kept me hooked for a minute but when I realized the 2 biggest names in the company were barely gonna be there (Rock & Brock) I tuned out again in 2012.

It'll really always feel like a fever dream that someone so historically significant in pro wrestling can't be spoken of. When I watched WWE post-Benoit it always felt like there was an elephant in the room during every show.

Benoit, to me, was arguably the GOAT Technical Wrestler. On some level, that's always gonna stick because he's one of those wrestlers who, in my formative years, was one of those guys whose story I was drawn to. I still occasionally can go back to certain matches and watch every so often.

But that being said... with the TDSOW Doc going in-depth with how Eddie dying completely broke him, me watching his return at No Mercy after that long absence in 06 and realizing, as an adult, that he was basically gone at that point, and finding out the condition that Nancy was found in? My opinion on him and that night is ever-changing. Because roid rage aside, CTE aside? There had to have been some HATE or deep-seeded resentment in that man's soul for woman to leave her that mangled in death. But then you factor in how broken dude was, to the point where his eyes had this permanent soulless glaze from late 06 til his death? Idk...
