I was listening to the Lo Life podcast, Been There Rocked That, and they had Chip-Fu as a guest. Chip told a story of when he was signed to JIVE the same time as Insane Clown Posse, and the label asked him to ghostwrite a joint for ICP called Chicken Huntin'. He asked what the song was supposed to be about and they said lynching black people . He said they offered a lot of money but he couldn't do it.

I don't know shyt about ICP, but I remember that joint cuz it was on The Great White Hype soundtrack. Let me find out that shyt is really supposed to be called nikka Huntin' I listened to the song again and it sounds like it ended up being about killing rednecks, so I don't know if ICP or the label changed their mind, but the whole backstory is just evil.

Where did the myth about ICP being racist originate from? I’ve dibbled and dabbled into their music because I’m into weird shyt, horror, horrorcore etc. 80% of their discography is about murdering racists and entitled rich people. It always baffled me when people say they’re a racist rap group. The only person I could think of that started that rumor is Esham when he was having label issues with them.

That's it. much as i love Esham (no homo) he is bipolar and disses people for no reason then usually makes up with them within a few years.

I remember when Tongues came out in 01 he had Violent J on track 5. Then on track 15 he drops a line "running against these racists, treat you like Joe Bruce with 2 faces" (joe bruce = violent j). Juggalos were left wondering if he's calling J two faced or if it's a face paint punchline. within 2 years (03 I think) he signs to ICPs label. Then he leaves Psychopathic after a few solo albums and collabo side projects with them and disses them again. Then comes back around and does more music and shows and festivals with them etc. They've been on good terms for over a decade since all of that.

Off topic but next month I'll be at a double concert in New Hampshire with Esham and Shaggy 2 Dope being the 2 headliners

doesnt have to be lying, Jive always has been shady AF so it wouldn’t surprise me if they asked him to write it. Or it could be that the Jive exec whoever was asking him had it wrong and said it was about lynching black people when it was really about lynching rednecks. Could have a few things that went wrong. He did stress that it was NOT ICP that was asking him but someone at Jive. That makes me think the story is true and either Chip got something twisted in his memory or the dude at Jive got it fukked up to begin with.

That’s dope man, that’s gonna be a fire show. Mental problems aside Esham is a phenomenal rapper. His first couple albums are amazing. Closed Casket is easily one of my top ten hip hop albums

ICP def ain't racist not now or back in the day but two things get people twisted

the clown face makeup used to be BLACK but that wasn't a racial thing for ICP they were just trying to find the right image

Also..in michigan very early on they used to do shows with other musical acts on the bill who were on some triple K shyt and so were some of they fans

I don't blame ICP for that they would preform wherever this was very early on they didn't have the luxury to be picky

Those groups didn't go anywhere for obvious reasons its some crazy old concert footage after ICP preforms someone yells out the the N word loud as hell its random as fukk
and seems out of place but that was because of the other group that was coming on after ICP
