Exactly.
Was just there last year riding around Hong Kong Island meeting all kinds of dope people from Germany, Singapore, the States, and more.
Stayed at Mira, receptionists and concierge spoke perfect English. Went all around Hong Kong using nothing but public transportation. By boat, by rail, by bus. No issues.
Ate at restaurants, no issues. Went out to a spot or two, no issues. Nothing but a great time.
Rented a car, no issues.
Same goes for Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, etc.
I wish people would just admit to being scary and broke instead of spreading bullshyt.
