I was back in Chicago for a conference a week or two back and EVERY Uber driver I took was talking freely how bad it is. One lady said she will never take the red line anywhere. One person even told me that my hotel in the loop was “probably ok for walking during the day…”. Another dude said forget the south side, he lives on the west side and never even does pick ups there anymore either. Talked sports with another dude and when I asked him if he went to any Bulls games this year and he was like “only 1…too much going on over there for me to want to keep going back”

It was the first thing they wanted to talk about..like, not the weather, but Chicago violence.

those uber drivers are mostly from the suburbs, so they don't know jack shyt about the actual neighborhoods, thus reiterating the typically media talking points.

every time I take uber, those dudes be from inidiana or the west suburbs.
