I've never been a huge fan of Ben Cardin, I volunteered for Kweisi Mfume in 2006 as a young pup in the Democratic Primary then which was a 3 point win for Cardin.

Manning is running as a Democrat. Maryland is a state where Dems outbumber GOP 2 to 1. It'll be interesting to see if anyone else jumps in. Cardin is a strong incumbent.

Also, Ben Cardin authored the Israel Anti-Boycott Act, which would make it a felony to support the international boycott against Israel—with a maximum criminal penalty of $1 million and 20 years in prison. To no surprise, he also didn't support the Iran Deal.

Ben Cardin's interesting. The media props him up as one of the most liberal senators so it's an uphill battle from that if people believe it.

If Manning is down with Medicare for all and money out of politics then it might be a decent campaign.

Sometimes these well-known progressives get washed because they can't debate. For example, Zephyr Teachout was a good candidate but she let her opponent wash her in those debates. We'll see if Chelsea can go under the bright lights :yeshrug:

Say Wikileaks = Russia

Was it in 2010 when Manning leaked those documents? I mean Manning leaks revealed: video of US soldiers gunning down unarmed innocents & journalists, documented systemic war crimes in Iraq & Afghanistan which in turn helped end the Iraq War by preventing new agreement to keep troops, and the documents helped fueled Arab Spring by exposing corrupt regimes.

The Russians didn't like the Arab Spring especially losing an ally in Gaddafi and then having Assad be on his toes vs. an insurgency.
