Chavez Jr. Congratulates Froch, Ready To Face Him!

Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. watched Carl Froch retains his WBC/WBA 'regular' titles with an eight round knockout of George Groves earlier today on HBO. Julio, who picked Froch to win, was very excited about the ending of the fight. Julio wanted to congratulate Carl Froch on his victory. Also Julio loves the idea of fighting Froch. Julio believes it the biggest fight out there for both.

Julio said - "I welcome a fight with Froch. This fight would be huge, Mexico and England have always had a great rivalry in sports. Also the fight would give me the oppurtunity to become the first fighter from Mexico to win the super middleweight world Title. I look forward to the fight happening."

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum would like to bring Chavez Jr. back in the fall, possibly on September 13th.

I don't think it's possible to have both JCC/Froch and a Marquez fight on the same card. That would take some serious diplomacy on par with the Palestenians and Israelis to determine who fights in the main event, and the co-main event. Not to mention the purses involved. Then again, Pac/Marquez V, and JCC/Froch as the co-main event................ I just can't see that happening breh. If Arum were to pull that off though, it would be a beautiful move on his part. I don't think Goldenboy could put a ticket together that could compete against that.
