Number four, I want to reduce our deficit. It’s got to be done in a balanced way. I’ve already cut a trillion dollars’ worth of spending. I’m willing to do more. I’m willing to cut more, and I’m willing to work with Democrats and Republicans when it comes to making some adjustments that bring down the cost of our health care programs, which obviously are the biggest drivers of our deficit.
But nobody who looks at the numbers thinks it’s realistic for us to actually reduce our deficit in a serious way without also having some revenue. And we’ve identified tax rates going up to the Clinton rates for income above $250,000; making some adjustments in terms of the corporate tax side that could actually bring down the corporate tax overall, but broaden the base and close some loopholes. That would be good for our economy, and it would be good for reducing our deficit.
I'm sorry, but Cenk is making a bunch of assumptions. I think a lot of the time you guys are so distrustful of politicians (justifiably) to the point where you just accept rants. I see some guys in here dapping and replying that should know how to think better than that. I like Cenk but a lot of times he goes on making assumptions and taking comments to justify the stances or positions he believes. Often times it may give caution but he lacks the concrete details to prove it.
He has no basis for saying that Medicare and all those things will be cut. He is saying that because there is always that fear. I've always said that Obama has governed to the center-right, but Cenk is drawing conclusions just because he doesn't know how else the deal could be deficit neutral. If what he claims is actually enacted then Democrats will lose even more seats during the 2014 midterm elections and they'll pretty much be done. That's political suicide. He just screams out things like "yeah they'll take out your mortgage credit and that other credit." At the very least, get details before going nuts. This is what Obama said:
Cenk needs to calm down. He overstates his own ability to make logical inferences on a regular basis. He could be right, but it certainly won't be because that statement right there told us. He's a natural skeptic like I am, but I don't say shyt without something more concrete than that. PAUL RYAN? That's the comparison he made? Ryan CLEARLY told you what he was about to do and how he would do it and you saw how it was bad. This is not remotely similar.
I remember during the debt ceiling fiasco obama agreed to cuts on medicare and SS for a plan.
sounds like most people who agree with Cenk. LOL@ not reading an EXCERPT of the actual statement Cenk is complaining about.
Then again, I don't read 99% of the stuff that gets posted either

So you have to be partisan your whole life? You can't change your outlook by living in a place like DC? I dont even watch the Turks or anything, but that seems somewhat unfair to meknew I should have done a background check:
