Thats why most of them lost their ability to maintain efficient use of their talent especially the top old school famous ones. 
Eddie Murphy: Hustles early in his career, gets fame/money then abandons society and starts living a boring, depressing life in Cali. Now he isn't funny anymore on a mainstream level.
Martin Lawrence: Also applies to him ; Chris Tucker: Same Ol' Story
Michael Jackson: Built an amusement park and zoo in his crib and was still miserable. Coudn't even sleep comfortably at night.
Whitney Houston: Achieved a lot but was always depressed and used a lot of drugs to suppress her feelings.
This applies to many others too numerous to mention.
When you abandon society/the streets, you lose your ability to perform at the highest level and also be grounded on the home front.
People like Chris Rock, Paul Mooney, Damon Wayans, Ice Cube and many others are still part of society, so there is always some freshness to what it going on out here.
Hiding in your mansions like a recluse doesn't make things better, it makes everything a lot of worse.
