I always knew they had a long leash, but this has been made more apparent to me watching the show on Vortex ... for one thing, any time someone is shooting, the sound effect has been replaced with a laser 
Also, a lot of scenes have been cut, and the narrative suffers for it. In the episode where Question and Huntress face off against Black Canary and Green Arrow, at the end Question admits that he likes Huntress. In the OG version, she kisses him and drags him away, which leads to Black Canary saying "I'm sorry, but ... ew
". But on Vortex, they cut out the kiss entirely 
And then in the episode where Task Force X steals the Annihilator from the Watchtower, there's a scene Martian Manhunter gets torn in half and thrown into a screen, but on Vortex, they just show the robot throwing him away
