This was in the 90s. Chalino Sanchez was a famous Mexican singer that started a genre of Mexican music called Narcocorridos. Basically he was singing and harmonizing about cartel gang shiit.

Well apparently he was told not to perform music in a certain cartel city, but he did anyway. Before he started his concert he was given a note that said after his show he was going to die. The next morning he was found on the side of a road with two gun shots to the back of his head.

Here is actual video of him reading the note.
Jesus Christ you can see the shookness in his face

:picard:

If the Cartel says not to do something, then you don't fukkin do it.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
'92, actually. He went willingly with them after the show. Suppose he didn't want those with him to be harmed, which would have certainly happened had he resisted.
No.

He left with his family and got pulled over by brehlitos posing as state police. They took him away and then killed him.

Someone also tried to kill him at Coachella four months earlier in a shootout during his performance but he survived.

And him getting shot actually blew his career up. He went from being an underground artist to a rising pop star.

His son followed in his footsteps but died in a car accident when he was 19.

I'm pretty sure he knew what was up breh. You think someone is just going to believe it's the police after receiving a death threat from the cartel? :heh:

Uh, yeah, hence him not resisting so they wouldn't be harmed, which is what I said. I read his Wikipedia page, too. And you're a fool if you think he genuinely believed those were officers.

If you’re in Mexico and you receive a death note or death threat, if you want to live, take it seriously.
