I been researching carb backloading recently (haven't copped any books, just read alotta articles) but i wanna know if anyone of y'all have tried it and if you feel it's a good program to use. it seems to me like a variation of IF to me so it should work but i don't know. i think i'm gonna give it a shot.

here's some links with more info...

I was just saw a post on this on another board and was going to bring it up here eventually. The timing wouldn't work for me but its an interesting read.

I was just watching a video about this: Carb Back-Loading Strategy if You Train 3 Times Per Week (video)

I usually try to eat my carbs the night before because I workout in the morning, so that part makes sense to me. If someone could dumb down the reason for wanting to have an insulin spike after working out, that would be great 'cause I don't really understand that. I always thought insulin spikes should be avoided, but all these articles are talking about why it's necessary post-workout but I'm not really catching the point..

From what I've read, the spike helps with muscle growth or limits loss to after you torn down those fibers you would want the spike for growth or limited loss.

I did this when I did long (>2hr) cardio sessions

I would have a big bowl of pasta Friday night and then do a 30 mile ride "fasted" Saturday morning

It was great cause I'd have the energy but not have that heavy "itis" feeling

I am guessing it keeps your blood sugar a little high but also loads the shyt out of your glycogen stores. I def recommend it for cardio brays

I figured this out too....

I could never train in a fasted state when I was trying to lose bellyfat until I realize that if I loaded up on carbs the night prior, I would have enough energy to get through a long cardio session.

With that being said, I still did not load up on carbs afterwards though.

Mostly a lot of water and some type of protein afterwards...

Weight came off like melting butter

I know a few bodybuilders on other sites praising it. I'd try it but I like to work out in the am. I'd rather not make adjustments.

after doing some more research and thinking on it, i think i'm gonna man up and start this, this week.

i gotta do something different cause with my bout of costochondritis still fukking with me and now my left knee most likely having torn cartilage in it :sadbron: i can't workout nearly as hard or often as i used to so i gotta do something to keep the muscle i got and lose the fat i've put on since my injuries.

shyt seems simple enough, but this first 9 days is gonna suck... :beli:
