Capcom Wants to Focus More on "Dormant IPs" Following Okami and Onimusha Announcements

Following the announcements of Onimusha Way of the Sword and the sequel to Okami, Capcom wants to dust off more forgotten franchises.

“In addition to regularly releasing major new titles each year, Capcom is focusing on re-activating dormant IPs that haven’t had a new title launch recently. The company is working to further enhance corporate value by leveraging its rich library of content, which includes reviving past IPs like the two titles announced above, in order to continuously produce highly efficient, high-quality titles,” the press release reads.

Capcom has been killing it because they've been releasing banger after banger for a minute.

Right now Sony, Sega, Capcom, From Software, Ubisoft and a few others are carrying this generation with classics.

Give us a new Dino Crisis, Cannon Spike and Power Stone and the cypher will be complete.

Yeah I can definitely see Dino Crisis happening at this point. That and Megaman are the 2 no brainers.


Maybe BoF, but I don't think they got the rpg chops like that anymore.

Lost Planet since that did have 3 games back in the ps360 era. Wonder if they would try something with Haunting Ground again.


Don't think they bother bringing back any of the non sf fighters like Darkstalkers, Rival Schools, Powerstone, or that one 3d fighter.
