classic album imo and probably my favorite "backpacker" album ever

production is on point and Vast Aire was an absolute monster

you were a stillborn baby, mother didn't want you but you were still born, boy meets world, of course his pops is gone, what you figure? that chalky outline in the ground is a father figure?

classic album, and Vordul was always >>>>, it's a shame dude was fukked up mentally because there still could be a spot for him on the indy scene. Every winter like clockwork I break this album out, it just goes perfect with the season.

Yeah, El-P's production had an apocalyptic vibe perfect for winter like Hell On Earth. But Cold Vein sounded futuristic. Almost like a sci-fi movie.

I still think Vast >>>>Vordul. Vordul might have been a better rapper in the traditional sense, but Vast's metaphors and imagery put him on another level imo. You could study Vast's verse on Pigeons in an English lit. class

They were a great duo even though technically their styles were very different. I think Vast was a lot more vivid, but Vordul had bars too.

freshmen year of high school I was heavy into underground hip hop because my homegirl put me on

I was listening to Jedi Mind Tricks, Esoteric, Copywrite, Tonedeff, Pack FM, Cage, Aesop Rock, C-Rayz and of course Cannibal Ox (for about 3 years solid)

I enjoyed Cold Vein very much. At the time Iron Galaxy and Pigeon were ground breaking for me to listen to.

I thought the remix to F Word was >>>>> than the original by leaps and bounds.

However, as the years went on, I noticed Vast and Vordul regress to :flabbynsick:

shyt was sad and unbearable to listen to after than

I even recall Vast doing some weak ass "mainstream" mixtape where he changed his shyt up like he was trying to be on some g-unit gangster street life thug gully shyt.

after than, I pretty much pulled out of being a underground hip hop fan hahahaha shyt was just retarded from that moment on
