This has all the makings of a plat thread in TLR (attractive white woman, easy-to-find Only Fans-esque videos floating around, husband that sounds emasculated) but I'll leave that to someone else.
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A candidate in a high-stakes legislative contest in Virginia had sex with her husband in live videos posted on a pornographic website and asked viewers to pay them money in return for carrying out specific sex acts.

Screenshots of Susanna Gibson on the website were shared with The Associated Press. The campaign for Gibson, a Democrat running for a seat in the Virginia House of Delegates in a district just outside Richmond, issued a statement Monday in which it denounced the sharing of the videos as a violation of the law and her privacy. Gibson called the exposure of the videos “the worst gutter politics.”

“It won’t intimidate me and it won’t silence me,” she said in the statement. “My political opponents and their Republican allies have proven they’re willing to commit a sex crime to attack me and my family because there’s no line they won’t cross to silence women when they speak up.”

IMO she's doing a disservice to actual sex crimes by comparing her previously public chaturbate videos w/ someone whose angry ex-bf sent nudes to her entire address book.

Juicier NY Post article (No I won't be sharing the links to give them clicks)
A Democratic candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates performed sex acts with her husband online — and asked her virtual audience to pitch in with “tips,” The Post has learned.

Susanna Gibson, a mother of two young children who is running in a competitive race to represent District 57 in Richmond, showed quite a bit more than skin on the adult streaming website Chaturbate, according to screenshots of archived material reviewed by The Post.

The 40-year-old nurse practitioner hosted more than a dozen of the live romps with her husband on the platform, which was then posted to a publicly accessible archive on the website Recurbate in September 2022 after she declared her candidacy, the Washington Post first reported.

The unconventional candidate had more than 5,770 Chaturbate followers, whom she repeatedly pressed for more “tokens” in exchange for certain acts in “private” showings — adding that she was “raising money for a good cause.”

In other videos, she suggested that she and her husband have “tried swapping” with different partners as she is “ethically non-monogamous,” but that he “doesn’t like sharing.”

Gibson often thanked her viewers after the tokens arrived and her husband, a lawyer, in at least one case echoed her requests.

Chaturbate’s terms of conditions state: “Requesting or demanding specific acts for tips may result in a ban from the Platform for all parties involved.”

In a statement to the Washington Post, Gibson called the publicly posted videos “an illegal invasion of my privacy designed to humiliate me and my family.

“It won’t intimidate me and it won’t silence me,” Gibson said. “My political opponents and their Republican allies have proven they’re willing to commit a sex crime to attack me and my family because there’s no line they won’t cross to silence women when they speak up.”

The candidate’s attorney, Daniel P. Watkins, told the outlet that the archived videos violated Virginia’s revenge porn law, which makes it a Class 1 misdemeanor to “maliciously” circulate sexual images or another person’s nudity with “intent to coerce, harass, or intimidate.”

The lawyer cited a Virginia Appeals Court ruling in 2021 that it was illegal for a man to secretly record his girlfriend during a consensual sexual encounter even if that video was never shared with others. (Not to editorialize but how is this even relevant)

“We are working closely with state and federal law enforcement,” Watkins also said.

Her campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Gibson is going up against Republican David Owen, a former home builder, for the Nov. 7 election, as Democrats are seeking to regain their majority in the 100-member Virginia House.

Republicans currently control the lower chamber by three delegates, 49 to 46. Democrats lead the state Senate by 22 to 18.

Gibson launched her campaign in July 2022 and has since raised $376,895 during her campaign, compared with $339,621 raised by the Owen campaign, according to the campaign finance website the Virginia Public Access Project.

However, she maintains just $77,435 cash on hand after going head-to-head in the June 20 Democratic primary with opponent Bob Shippee.

Owen has retained $166,179 of his funds after facing no primary challenger.

so she was using the videos to fund her campaign??
The second article hints at it w/o coming outright and saying it. It is the NY Post tho so they could just be acting deceptive for the sake of clicks. Husband is a doctor but it sounds like they were streaming last year so it's possible.

On another note, I've got no qualms about people capitalizing off of their bodies publicly, but it's not something I think is compatible w/ who I want to represent me in public office. Not because it's immoral but because it seems like a lack of foresight/decision-making skills if the goal was to become an actual politician. Also if you are willing to sacrifice your body to make a profit, I question how strong you'll stand when lobbyist come a-knocking

But sexwork is work!:troll:

Jokes aside this will become more of a problem as time goes on. A lot of folks doing this think they can skate by but once the identification AI becomes more public we’re gonna see all types of lawyers, execs, doctors, etc caught up in this
