I think it is quite remarkable that they still are ruled by England. Yea they got a prime minister but they really england’s child born out of wedlock. Same goes for Australia.

But yea Canada can be whatever it wants. As long as the US remains powerful

Canada can be an economic power since the US guarantees their security. Mexico could as well if they can fix the corruption. Canada has resources and they get lots of tech immigration.

Canada is a completely independent country from the UK. The US President has more power and influence in Canada than the British monarch or prime minister.

However, Canada is the Commonwealth country that sucks up to the UK the most. It's to try and "distance" themselves from being considered "too American" lol (this is a big part of Canadian national identity).

The US has been pushing Canada to increase their defense budgets. Definitely been enjoying being under the US security blanket. But I think they will reach the point, similar to
Japan, where they start muscling up. Especially if as many believe, the ARCTIC, becomes the site of the next “Great Game.”
