can you still buy weed from shops in amsterdam???

we're talkin about goin early next year and i just remembered hearing something about them banning tourists from buying....anybody have any experience with this??? i'll be if i cant enjoy some space cakes and a blunt of thunderfukk with a cup of coffee

Not if u are a tourist, only citizens can get a pass for the coffeeshops

I've been twice (2009 & 2010) but from everything I've heard it wouldn't affect Amsterdam for a long time, if at all. I think it goes into effect January 1 but a lot of coffeeshop owners said they wouldn't comply.


From what I understood the border towns, like Maastricht, were the only ones enforcing the ban so far.

Totally forgot about this and, if true, this would kill any future 'Dam return trips.

Throw the canals, bikes & pomme frites in the bushes.

I only went once and now I can't go back

It's to bad to I had a blast and I was looking forward to going back, I wont even attempt to go until it is clear u can...IM not trying to pay all that bread to go over there and be told I cant smoke.

IM sure you can get a pass or bud from somebody over there but for all that hassle you might as well save your money and smoke here.

I lurked that bytch for months before my first trip and they have a very informative community. Found a lot of helpful info on the boards.

I was reading some threads and I wouldn't worry about being banned from buying bud in Amsterdam for awhile.

The outer towns near the borders are the ones being hit hard.

Negative on the ban. My coworker just came back from there in July and she was and eating edibles all day. I got another homie that was there in March and didn't have problems either.

If they are trying to ban tourists from purchasing, there's so many locals there that have absolutely no problems buying it for you. The "A" is a very tourist friendly place.
