Ha ha of course you can trust someone you don't respect. I don't respect my little b*stard dog. The c*nt is selfish and shyt. Licking other dogs piss and being all sorts of feminine for a male dog... but I'd trust that dog to bust a gat if my life was in danger.

Trust is a choice. You can trust anything you choose.
if you don't respect someone because you feel like he's a bytch, sometimes you can still trust him specifically because you know fear controls him and that he fears you. You can also respect a player's game and not trust him.

my premise though is that im thinking in terms of the principal behind trust and respect...
IMO I cant trust someone that does things to hurt people or is manipulative, hence I cant respect someone like that either...even if they are getting by with the manipulative efforts for example a pimp using women to get financial gain...you can respect someone like that because of his "mack skills" but is that someone really deemed worthy of true respect?

Yes and yes. They're mutually exclusive categories. But, there are limits. My trust and/or respect are rarely unconditional.
