it was a book i read for school around 93-94 when i was 10-11 years old. it was a collection of african-american horror stories set in slavery-early 1900's time. cant really remember the details of any of the individual stories but one i vaguely remember was about a guy who's watch was stuck on a specific time and he was told that he was gonna die at that time so he locked himself up in his house to avoid death. was a great and genuinely spooky collection of stories that i would like to revisit again
