Brehs after Sin Cara's latest botch and injury its pretty clear that as soon as his contract is up he's getting kicked out the door. You know WWE is mad cause he was supposed to be the replacement for Rey Mysterio... but that just didn't work out that way. So what now....

Kofi Kingston would have been a great choice especially after that mini-feud with Orton years ago but he's been jobber status ever since. Zack Ryder was over with the crowd but after his "friend zoning" he's been bushes status. Evan Bourne has been missing since his injury and weed bust, Ted DiBiase has been off television for quite some sime so he's a no.

Can the WWE create a new underdog wrestler to be mainstream like Rey Mysterio was or will that type of wrestler will not exist anymore?

they already got one... haven't been watching?

DB is pretty much that guy. Especially now with the "he isn't big enough, doesn't look good enough, isn't tall enough, etc." He's gonna overcome all that and reach the top... there's your underdog
D-Bry is a guy that I KNOW can beat anyone, even though they are trying to make him as an underdog we all know he can outwrestle most people in the business so I can't consider D-bry an "underdog"

Taking away from Daniel Bryan, because he is a WWE Made Man, you need to consider a few things.
  • They are borderline Cruiserweight/Heavyweight tweeners.
  • They are NXT/Low/Midcarders
  • They have a spotless backstage record
  • They show a dedication to excellence, piffage.
One can take away that Kofi fits this. Although the only issue with Kofi for me, is that he is a very bland face. "Oh I am so happy to be here. I am going to do every..." instead Kofi should listen to Mark Henry, unleashing Black Excellence into the new Era. Not saying Kofi doesn't have it in him, but his persona shouldn't be what the fans want him to be but what he wants to be to the fans.

Rey wasn't exactly a jobber himself...

Sure we know it, just like we know Undertaker ain't a zombie. It's still the character he's currently being portrayed as- the guy who's small and short but has enough fight in him to take on whoever and overcome.

It was better than Jeff Hardy's actually...
I disagree hardy's reigns were short but it was always because he got screwed out of the belt. Matt turned on him at A rumble, cm punk cashed in mitb on him, things like that he got cheated and looked sympathetic.

Rey was made to look like A complete bum and sometimes even a plain ole coward in 2006. Before winning the belt he would fight bigger guys all the time no problem as champ it was like he magically forgot he was one of the best in the world and couldn't defend himself let alone win a match. He was also doing Ziggler style jobbing on tv with the title those were dark dark days to be a Rey fan.
