Like can we settle on a thread title format for Movies/TV Shows

I'm just throwing shyt at the wall here but something like

[Show name][Season][Date][Channel][IMDB/TVDB Rating]

[Official Thread]Game of Thrones - [Season 6][04/13/16][HBO][8.1]

Makes shyt easier to search for, and we avoid duplicate threads etc.. what y'all think.. any ideas :lupe:

I agree but lose the IMDB rating part. :camby:I'd rather there be a Coli Film Room Rating. :blessed:

We could even use the 5 star rating system that's already built in, but instead of rating the thread it would be a movie rating. 10 stars would be ideal though.

A searchable default format and rating system would just be. :banderas:

Very good idea but it's never going to happen. You're never going to get an entire sub-forum to agree on one format for anything.

Fred.

One way it could be done is we change the posting format so there's three options. Movie, TV, Discussion.
  • If movie is chosen then someone enters the info in the format suggested by @aXiom into 4 or 5 given text boxes instead of thread name.
  • If TV is chosen then someone enters the info in the format suggested by @aXiom into 4 or 5 given text boxes instead of thread name.
  • If discussion is chosen then it would be like a regular post.

We give them a choice. One of our choices.:smugdraper:

What if people post their ideas for formatting and we vote on the 3 with the most daps..:lupe:

I'm also down to be an architect and rename the older threads. I think this forum has potential to be a lot more than it is.

Good idea, but just keep it TV and Movie categories.

[TV] Game of Thrones Season 6 Thread
[Film] Avengers Thread

Hell, even do a "TV Film" one.

No need to add all that other unnecessary stuff.
Nah I think networks make it a bit easier to search.. if someone wants to search for shows from a particular network they could just type in "Netflix" or "AMC" into search with the "titles only" option selected and get all the netflix shows that are discussed in the forum. Date/Time would just let you know at a quick glance without having to enter the thread.

I don't like this idea. Part of what makes the coli dope is it's thread titles, whether it's "Touch me Teague me: 2014 Atlanta Hawks offseason thread" or "Running through the 7 with my wolves: Official Game of Thrones Season 5 thread (NO SPOILERS)"

That formulaic shyt would make this place bland. Only requirement should be that if you want it to be the official thread, you must put the title of the show/movie in the thread title
No one is saying we remove those.. just that we have a consistent format for thread titles.

The network thing is cool, but all that other stuff is not needed for it's own bracket.

We can still do that.
