Never thought I'd see the day where the greatest cartoon of my childhood would receive the paperwork.

The only good thing that can come from this is Vegeta stepping up and getting a W. I just don't know about all this extra shyt they throwing in nowadays. Toriyama is tarnishing his legacy with all this frieza/whiz/beers nonsense. Everything about this looks straight up terrible Why is Frieza back for the #400th time and why is he a threat now? Why is Roshi mixing it up with the z-fighters? Do power levels mean anything? Where is Goten and Trunks? Why the hell is gohan suddenly a scrub now? Is he replacing Yamcha? Too many loopholes and unanswered questions.

Exactly. Nyggas acting like DBZ was a masterpiece of literary art before the new movies came out.

Movie looks like typical DBZ - overpowered martial arts fighters shooting fireballs at each other. I don't see any reason you wouldn't like the new movies if you liked the original DBZ, only real difference is that the "villain threatens the Earth" plot is compressed into a shorter timeframe. I think some people have bloated expectations.

And anyway DBZ is basically like Ninja Turtles - the franchise can't really die regardless, it's just too popular. If one series/movie/game bombs it's only a matter of time before a new one comes out.

Frieza is technically only back for the second time, everything else was non canon

It honestly just seems like AT is testing the waters for a relaunch, both of these movies wouldn't be as bad if they weren't condensed into two hours. They're either gonna relaunch the show after the success of this new movie, or keep giving us new movies every two years, either way I'm game.
