Can we all agree that The Usual Suspects has the GOAT twist ending?

Its in my personal top 5 and the best thriller in my book.

Just watched it again a couple of days ago and it continues to be a enjoyable watch.

I know there are other movies with a good twist in the end like Fight Club but that shyt is too long and doesnt have the same replay value.

The thing that makes the twist in this movie better in my opinion is that it leads to a whole host of wild theories to explain the movie.

Which other similar movie can claim this?

I know I asked for approval in my thread title but now I dont care about that. Fuk what you think. The Usual Suspects has the GOAT twist.

And anyone who feels they knew the twist early on can suck a dik.

Come in here and pay your tribute:salute:

There's this little movie called The Empire Strikes Back. You might've heard about it? It's something to do with a father or something.

:camby:

Twist is something that happens at the end of a movie which changes your perception of the story.

Empire Strikes Back was the second part of a trilogy so it wasnt exactly the end of the story and although Vader being Luke's was a good shock, it wasnt that significant to the overall narrative.

The only thing that keeps The Usual Suspects ending (which was great) from being GOAT status for me is the fact that there is no way you should have been able to predict that ending. There are no clues to the reveal, and the creators of the film purposely lead you in the wrong direction.

For me, the GOAT twist ending has to be something where you watch the movie again and are like "how the f*ck didn't I figure this out"

:ohhh:

Based on that criteria, I gotta give it to "The Sixth Sense".

I agree with both of yall.

A good twist is a movie that throws clues at you but still manage to have you :ohhh: for the revelation. If you can guess the twist a good amount of time before the reveal *cough* Fight Club! *cough* or the movie misleads you from it it's a bad twist.

I think the best twist movies are those where you dont think there will be a twist in the end so it catches you off guard when it happens.

Thats why I dont like 'who dun it' murder mysteries because you are already waiting for the twist and if you watch it with a group of people everyone predicts a character to be the killer and in the end one of you is right.
