Can We Agree That Ryback Has Been Booked Poorly So Far?

This man could have been the WWE's version of Goldberg as in a brand new Face that could carry the company into the next decade. But instead of striking while the iron was hot, they had already booked themselves into a corner which fukked him in terms of storyline booking.

Started 44-0 (?), Followed Up With

HIAC vs CM Punk - L
Surv. Series vs CM Punk vs John Cena - L
TLC vs The Shield - L
Jan 7th vs CM Punk - L
RR final 2 vs John Cena - L

This nikka has lost every important match that he has been in. I'm of the opinion that he was shot up the card way too soon anyway as i felt that he shouldve feuded with miz longer slowly move up the card. Instead they hotshot him up the card and booked themselves into a corner with the rock already being set for a WWE title run. Now he's still over but nowhere what he could have been. Imagine if Hogan had pulled that ref screwjob on Goldberg in Atlanta :mindblown:

Well, he came from "yipyip, whatitido?" Skip Sheffield, so I think Ryback has been booked a lot better than Ryan Reeves ever has been booked.

:whoa: thats a bit of a stretch, but it definitely doesnt help with all the part time faces coming back taking his spot

He falls behind

Cena
Sheamus
Taker
HHH

They have to give him something big at WM or else he will suffer more

Yes and no.

Them turning him into a direct copy of Goldberg wouldn't have helped him at all... bad enough he still gets the chants every now and then. It would've been a mistake to do that, because it probably would've backfired.

He was booked poorly because they pushed him into that spot so quickly. He went from beating jobbers on PPV to main eventing in a HIAC match overnight. And they weren't gonna give him the title, so it was too much too soon. Now, he's already been at main event level and failed to win the title THREE times. Whereas if they paced it better, he'd be wildly popular and people would be ready to see him get that push right now. Even if they'd moved him away from the title picture after the screwjob finish, it would've protected him better, instead of having him keep trying and get cheated every time.

That said, I don't think he's a lost cause or anything like that. He became an uppercard star who can still get in there with top guys and be taken seriously, after only being on TV for 9 months. He doesn't look like a loser cause he's never taken any REAL L's yet. The closest thing to a real L was losing the Rumble, because the guy he was up against actually caused him to lose the match. Besides that, he still looks credible enough to go over whoever tomorrow.

It's not so much the wins and losses, it's just how fast they went about it and how much the hype has died down. Hell, even Goldberg got to win the US title and run thru more people before he got put into the main event. They had Ryback beating Heath Slater one week and headlining PPV's the next. He's not Vladimir Kozlov status tho', he's more like where Sheamus was after they gave him that initial big push.

He had no business in the main event scene that early. He should have had a long streak, won the rumble then go after the WHC title. He could have won at mania only to lose it that same night when Dolph cashes in. Thus a new feud is born. I was never high on the Ryback but it could have worked if they fed him more properly

It's not his spot. If he was legit, it wouldn't matter. If they took him SERIOUS, it wouldn't matter. Blandy got pushed hard in 2003-2005. Fans didn't even accept him and he kept getting pushed like he was a star. Cena turned face and lost like one match as US Champion, went to Raw, and was more dominant than Stone Cold Steve Austin to everyone's disgust.

Ryback can't even stop 3 newcomers who use jump tactics? Goldberg would of MURDERED the Shield with 3 back to back spears...Austin would get a chair to serve as an equalizer. Ryback? Runs down, takes out one, and gets his ass whooped. Silly.

You guys remember those dirt sheet reports after they first teased him & Punk? They basically said that it was a last minute thing & people in the arena didn't even see it on the tron.

Going by that I think he was booked pretty well initially considering he actually got over. All these fukkery losses haven't helped him, but they haven't really hurt him either. The way he's been booked is for the best anyway. It would have been dumb to have him do a Goldberg streak before getting "tasered".

I don't even like Ryback though. He is as close to a Goldberg clone as possible, but at least they gave Goldberg some decent moves to use. All of Ryback's offense looks retarded. On top of that they don't even give him pyro during his entrance, just the sound effect of the pyro explosion he should have.
