Kobe's 20,000 point accomplish was more impressive than Lebron's. Even though Lebron is the youngest to do it, let's be honest: After 2002, the league became softer due to the new defensive guidelines. Even getting rid of the zone defenses had a effect on how things are done today. Even the calls that Lebron gets are unfair, and mind boggling.

We know that the Stern and his croonies have tried to move Kobe out as the Golden Child of the NBA and replace him with Lebron. Real fans and experts such as myself see through the nonsense. If the same defense rules were applied in 96, when Kobe was a rookie he would have reached 20,000 mark in 7-8 years rather than 11.

So now taking longer to reach 20,000 is better than reaching 20,000 in a shorter timespan :beli:

No matter what the rules were in 96, he still came off the bench. When he became the starter, he was still the second best option on the team. To do that in 7 years, if he scored 1500 pts each of his first 2 years, he would have needed to average about 34 ppg in his 5 years as a starter assuming he played 100 games per season.
